A forum where threads would go, for example, after a month or so of inactivity. The forum would be locked, but any member can view any part of it at any time, but only moderators and admins can do anything with them.(edit, move, etc.)

Yea, I think your suggestion has a pretty good use for the forums.

Yup, but we probably wont actually need it for a while seeing how all of the threads in this forum are updated daily, if not every two to three days.

sounds like a great way to remove the clutter of unneeded/outdated posts while still being able to go back to the posts if needed

Yup, and if we have any locked threads, or threads that we notify the admin/moderators about that we do not require anymore, they could just ship them on over to our own little dumpster.
